What guilds have you been in previously? Why did you leave?

Succession - Went into Guild Merger with LikeWarmManaPie due to Member Raid Atendance
Metamorphasis - Merger failed due to Conflicting Raid styles of the 2 groups involved in the merger.
ItsAWipe - Guild broke up due to Member Raid attendance. (paticularly the GM who made 1 out of the last 10 Raids)
DASBOOT - Still a Member and do not plan on leaving untill accepted.

Our raid times are from 8pm-12 on Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday and Monday. Can you make the majority of these raids? I am currently getting a job (need it to pay for the server transfer) and will accept membership in your guild only if my jobs schedule will allow me to make these Raid Times.
How did you find out about Sol Invictus? Do you know any current members? IRL Friend of Das.
Have you read the guild charter? Yes
Have you ever undergone a name change and or a server transfer? What name did you used to go by and what previous servers have you been on under that name(s)? Never undergone Server or Name Change.
What sort of previous raid experience do you have?

Nothing Pre-BC.
BC only 10 man content.
Wrath 25 man content up to Faction Champs in TOC. To Yogg in Uld but never downed.
Wrath 10 Man. All hard modes required for Rusted Proto Drake. Attemps made on Hard Mode Anub.

What sort of addons do you use?

X-Perl
DBM
Tankadin
Macaroon (for Bars)
Omen
A few others, But those are the Major ones

Tell us a little bit about yourself. No less than 20 words please.

Student at Cape Fear Comm College in Wilmington NC. I'm more or less a Hardcore Player, I like to do my research on my class and the encounters I'm facing and expect others to do the same. That being said I feel that this is first and foremost a game and I prefer a more casual relaxed environment to raid in. I like joking around and goofing off as long as it isn't wiping the raid.
I consider my self first and foremost a Tank, I have experience tanking with all 4 tanks. Have 3 of them at 80 (although the DK is a fresh ding). I think i like it so much because it's more of a big picture style of seeing the encounter, You need to know the encounter as a whole rather then just the DPS side or just the healing side, You need to know all aspects of the encounter to be able to have everything positioned optimally and to be able to react to sudden changes and complications. In short it's the old adage, "DPS is a game, Healing is a Job, and Tanking is a responsibility." I like that responsibility and being the lynch pin the group revolves around.

What is your biggest weakness as a player?

Boredom on Farm nights sometimes cause me to "Over reach"..... I mean, I'm a prot pally. "When in doubt. Round em up and Consecrate."
In all seriousness though I would say it's either that in trying to stretch an i will on occasion over estimate my abilities and try to do too much to smooth or save a pull.
Other then that i have a problem maintaining focus in situations where the same or similar mistakes are being repeated causing our failure on the fight. At this point i will often make stupid mistakes myself.

Tell us about a time where the game made you frustrated; how did you handle it?

I wouldn't ever say it's the "Game" that makes me frustrated, More the people in it.
The biggest thing that will frustrate me is lack of preparation. I have certain expectations of my self and those I raid with. The basics of Flasks and Food of course. But I also expect, or at least hope, that anyone who shows up for a new raid will have read the Wiki and watched a video so that they know what they are walking into, at least the basics so the raid leader can describe how they do things and they will understand what is being talked about.
It's a common occurrence on my server unfortunately to encounter raiders who say they want to join a Raiding guild and then either don't show up at all, or show up inadequately prepared often with no flasks or food but more commonly people who don't know what you mean when you tell them it's their job to heal the grip on kologarn.
The ways I have always tried to deal with this is to find encourage and make clear what my expectations are of them when I'm Raid leading, and to also try and requite replacements so that they won't feel their station is secure, unfortunately that has proven to not be possible on Anub'Arak

How long have you been playing WoW? Have you played any other MMOs?

I have played WoW since a few months after it's release. I did not have any 60's till after BC and my first 70 was a few months prior to 3.0 so my pre-Wrath Raiding experience is rather slim. I spent alot of time switching between classes and never fully leveling them so.... took my a wile to max out.

The only other MMO I have played is EVE Online, But only for a few months as I'm not a huge fan of the play style of the game.

Do you have any alternate sets of gear? For example, any resist, healing, tanking or dps sets of gear for something that is not your main spec?

Crit Immune Frost resist set for Hodir. (used Resil to get there)
Ret set that pulls 3.5-4K is dmg.
Holy set that i haven't used since Naxx, but I've updated it with gear about to be sharded since then, so it's a little stronger then just Naxx 25.

If you could change one thing about your class, what would it be?

Duel Wield Shields.... :P
Really though, there isn't a lot about Prot Pally's I want to change. Block Value is currently not a very useful Mitigation stat, but i would not want Holy Shield to be changed to a less then always up state to provide more Block Value. In the end I like where I'm at after the Ardent Defender Fix, and there isn't anything I want to see changed that can be changed at this point without another expansion. The Avoidance and Effective Health are just too High on tanks for the bosses to hit softer, and so Block Value is simply a stat that has to remain in it's weakened state for the game to remain a viable challenge.
For example, In full BIS gear out of Naxx 25, there are a few bosses, Loetheb Primarily, that hit me for less then 1000 dmg a swing through the entire encounter........

What are you looking for in a guild?

A group of people who like to have fun downing bosses and are committed enough to not have a night where we simply cant raid because enough people aren't on...
That being a primary concern I also would appreciate a fair and simple DKP system and enough activity to be able to raid with and gear my alts as well as my main.

Do you gear for raids, or raid for gear? Gear for Raids all the way. I mean, Don't get me wrong, I like the gear too, but I'm not gonna do something I don't enjoy in order to have gear to be able to do something I don't enjoy....
Do you have any alts? If so, tell us about them.

Uld 10 geared Resto/Enhance Shamm
Prot War geared enough to OT normal TOC or 10 Uld
DK and Lock who have very little gear but are both 80.

If we were to talk to your former guildmates, what do you think they would say about you? One of the Best tanks they have ever raided with. Solid and committed to being there and doing all he can do to make a Raid run smooth.
If you were asked to sit out of a raid while another player was brought in, how would you handle it?

Compleatly fine if it's
A) for someone with higher seniority and rank then me in the guild, I fully expect to have to earn my place of a reserved seat, and respect others who have already done so.
B) For the needs of the encounter. IE I can't pull the DPS needed and we don't need as many tanks as are currently in the raid.

Failing either of those I may ask the Raid leader and the end of the night as to the reasons why, and if there is anything else I could do to earn a more solid spot in the raids.

Is there anything else you feel we should know about you? Links to WWS reports for healer and dps applicants are appreciated if possible.

Stated Earlier. But IRL Friend of Das.
